Proverbs and Sayings Homework 22.01.10
Your task this week links with our PSHE work on proverbs and sayings. Please discuss with your parents, friends or other relatives the proverbs that they know and use. Discuss what they mean.
Be prepared to talk about your proverbs or sayings next week.
Here’s one to get you started:

Home Learning 15.01.10
Your home learning for this week is to do some work that will help with your literacy work on myths.
Your task is to see if you can find a myth that you like (either from a book of your own, one from the library, or from the internet) and then read it.
You will then need to re-tell it in your own words, and you can do this in a number of ways:
- Bullet points
- Full sentences
- Drawings
- Drawings and writing
- A recording (if you are really flash!)

As we again, here are some further activities to keep your brains working! If you have not finished completing the ‘What I know about the Tudors’ sheet, then you have that to do. You can also go on the Tudor website that I suggested for the last snow day(s). You will find the link to this on the older post.
Additionally, you can have a go at some literacy work that will help you in the coming weeks. We will be looking at myths and quest myths, so see if you can find any of these that you like. If you want to combine the snow with your school activities, why not take an interesting photo of a snow scene (or draw it if you don’t have a camera). You can then describe this setting. Remember to use some interesting adjectives (describing words), and why not try using a simile (‘The snow is like…..’, or ‘The wind was as cold as……’). This will help you with your setting descriptions later on this term.
Hope this keeps you busy and I look forward to, hopefully, seeing you tomorrow!
Have fun!
Love from Miss Read.

Hello Badgers, hope you are all enjoying the snow!
As you have missed a lot of school this week due to the snow, here are a couple of things for you to do to make sure your brains don’t freeze!
I would like you to think about what you know about the Tudors already, what you would like to know, and how you think we could go about finding these things out. You can either add you comments to this post, or you can write them down on paper. You can use the Word document that I have attached to help you: What I know… Tudors
If you would like to find out about the Tudors, why not take a look at the following website: Tudors http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/Homework/Tudors.html
Don’t forget that you can also go on Tutpup to practise your times tables. You will also need to keep on learning your spellings by doing your Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check practise and remember to read and write in your reading diary.
Hope to see you all soon!

Your home learning for this week is to carry on learning your script and the words to all of the songs. You have all been singing beautifully and now we would like you to try and learn the words off by heart. Also, can you get your costumes together? We have got face masks sorted, so you just need to sort out the body parts. I know lots of you have already made a huge start, so well done.
Performances are on Wednesday for the year 3s and on Thursday for the year 2s, so we haven’t got long!!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
See you on Monday!

Now that our assembly is over, we can properly concentrate on Christmas!
So, your home learning for this week is to practice your lines for our Christmas plays.
Year 2s, you need to learn both your lines and the Christmas songs.

Year 3s, you need to learn your lines and try to learn the words to ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘While Shepherds Watched’, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’.
Good luck, have a great weekend, and I will see you on Monday.

Your home learning for this week is to learn your assembly part ready for next Thursday. Please can you try to learn it off by heart. We will be practicing during school time as well, so don’t worry if you are struggling! Also, can you try and get your (or other children’s) costumes organised and brought into school as soon as possible.
Have a good weekend, don’t forget your LSCWC for your spelling test on Tuesday, and I will see you on Monday.
